The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, an international men's football tournament contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is scheduled to be hosted by Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2022.[1] The final tournament will have 64 matches played at 12 stadiums in 11 different cities. The knockout stage of the knockout stage and the round of 16 will be played at 12 stadiums in 11 different cities, while match scheduling and bidding requirements specified in the award agreement allow each city to bid on hosting one match per day (i.e., allowing a maximum of four games during each hosts' opening weekend).[2]
